Ev Long Campground is situated along Gallinas Creek amid towering ponderosa pines and mixed conifers in the Santa Fe National Forest, 14 miles from Las Vegas, New Mexico via Highway 65 and Forest Road 263. This rustic campground provides a peaceful setting at moderate elevation with convenient access to both creek-side relaxation and forest recreation. The campground features 14 camping units available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Three vault toilets and trash bins serve the campground. There are no hookups, dump stations, showers, or potable water available, so campers must bring their own water supply. The campground accommodates both tent camping and RVs, though there are no horses, horse trailers, or ATVs allowed. Visitors enjoy fishing in Gallinas Creek, hiking on nearby trails, and exploring the surrounding national forest. The campground operates under quiet hours from 10pm to 7am with a limit of three vehicles per site. Users are encouraged to practice Leave No Trace principles and pack out trash when possible.
