Jacks Creek Horse Camp is a dedicated equestrian campground beautifully situated among aspens and mixed conifer in the Pecos-Las Vegas Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest. At approximately 8,000 feet elevation, it provides an authentic mountain experience with direct access to the 160,000-acre Pecos Wilderness via Jacks Creek Trail #257. The campground offers 8 equestrian camping units featuring 5 12'x12' corrals, with highline or picket line setups available on 3 additional sites. There are 15 designated spaces for horse trailer parking. Facilities include ADA-accessible vault toilets, picnic tables, grills, and trash bins at each site. RVs are welcome but there are no hookups or showers. Quiet hours are enforced from 10pm to 7am. Dogs must be leashed at all times, and sheep/goats are prohibited in the Pecos Wilderness. ATVs are not allowed in the campground.
