El Porvenir Campground is located in the Santa Fe National Forest near Las Vegas, New Mexico, beautifully situated in a mixed conifer forest next to Beaver Creek at the base of Hermit's Peak. The campground offers 13 camping units available on a first-come, first-served basis, suitable for both tent and RV camping. The setting provides a peaceful mountain environment with moderate usage levels. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring/grill. The campground provides 2 vault toilets and bear-proof trash bins. Campers must bring their own water as no potable water is available on-site. There are no utility hookups, dump stations, or showers. The campground serves as a base for various recreational activities including fishing in Beaver Creek and hiking the surrounding trails. The campground is located approximately 15 miles from Las Vegas on Highway 65 and Forest Road 261. Restrictions include no horses or horse trailers permitted, no ATVs allowed, a 3-car limit per site, and quiet hours from 10pm to 7am. Users are encouraged to practice Leave No Trace principles. The standard fee is $8.00 per vehicle.
