Storm Creek Lake Campground is part of Mississippi River State Park, a unique partnership between Arkansas State Parks and the U.S. Forest Service within the St. Francis National Forest. The campground underwent extensive renovation in 2020-2022, transforming from 14 primitive sites with a vault toilet into a modern camping facility. The campground now features 11 AAA campsites (sites 32-45) with electricity, water, and sewer hookups, three walk-in tent campsites with electricity and shared water, and five distinctive camper cabins. The camper cabins, designed to resemble Mississippi River shipping containers, include queen beds, bunk beds, heating and air conditioning, screened porches, outdoor grills, and fire pits. A modern four-unit bathhouse with hot showers serves the entire campground. Storm Creek Lake, created in 1938 by the Works Progress Administration, provides opportunities for fishing (largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, channel catfish, blue catfish), boating, and swimming. A swim beach operates from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, and a day-use area with a rentable pavilion offers additional recreation space. The park offers kayak, paddleboard, and boat rentals. Multiple hiking trails provide access to the diverse habitats of Crowley's Ridge, where hardwood forests meet the Arkansas Delta.
