About
Lone Pine Campground occupies a scenic peninsula on Bear Creek Lake within Mississippi River State Park, surrounded by the Saint Francis National Forest. The campground's 14 primitive sites are well-spaced among towering beech and oak trees, providing natural shade and privacy for tent campers seeking solitude. The campground features vault toilets but no potable water or electrical hookups. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and stand grill. Access is via dirt roads only, making this an ideal destination for tent campers and small camping vehicles rather than large RVs. Bear Creek Lake offers excellent opportunities for fishing and non-motorized boating. The nearby Bear Creek Day-Use Area provides additional amenities including an accessible fishing pier and kayak launch. The park's visitor center features interactive exhibits about the Mississippi River Delta region and the rich natural history of the Saint Francis National Forest.
Directions
From Marianna, follow Business Hwy 1 to Ark. 44 (The Great River Road/Crowleys Ridge Parkway), then six miles southeast to the Bear Creek Lake Recreation Area.
