About
Maple Flat Group Campground sits within Mississippi River State Park in the Arkansas Delta region of Lee County. This primitive group camping area is designed for organized outings, featuring basic amenities including a vault toilet, picnic tables, and a group grill. The campground has no water or electricity, making it suited for campers comfortable with backcountry-style camping. The campground is accessible only by dirt roads, adding to its secluded character. The surrounding area features bottomland hardwood forests typical of the Mississippi River floodplain ecosystem. Mississippi River State Park also offers additional recreational opportunities including Bear Creek Lake and Storm Creek Lake, with boat ramps, swim beaches, and kayak/paddleboard rentals available elsewhere in the park. Reservations are required for this group camping facility and can be made through the Arkansas State Parks reservation system. The park is located just off Highway 44 near Marianna, Arkansas.
