Stephens Park occupies a scenic position below Blakely Mountain Dam where the cool waters of the Ouachita River flow into Lake Hamilton. This small, unstaffed U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground offers 9 large Class A RV sites, each equipped with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer hookups. A shower house provides modern amenities, and a playground is available for families. The location serves as an excellent base for exploring the Lake Ouachita area. Shoreline fishing access is readily available at both Stephens Park and the adjacent Avery Day-Use Area. Boaters can access Lake Ouachita via the nearby Spillway Ramp or reach Lake Hamilton using the Avery Ramp. The campground sits at the eastern end of the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (LOViT), a 44-mile trail system that meanders along the south shore of Lake Ouachita through the Ouachita Mountains. Hot Springs National Park lies just 10 miles east, offering historic bathhouses and thermal springs. The surrounding 1.8 million-acre Ouachita National Forest provides additional hiking, fishing, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Black bears, bobcats, deer, and bald eagles (especially in winter) inhabit the forested mountains around the lake.

Directions

From Hot Springs, AR: Take US 270 west to AR-227 N/Mountain Pine Rd for 6 miles. Continue straight on Blakely Dam Road through Mountain Pine and past Mountain Pine School. Stephens Park Campground will be on your left just before reaching the base of Blakely Mountain Dam.
