Located just below Blakely Mountain Dam on the shores of Lake Ouachita, Stephens Park is a small, peaceful Army Corps of Engineers campground offering 9 Class A sites with full hookups. The campground is nestled in the Ouachita Mountains, about 10 miles west of Hot Springs National Park, where the crystal-clear waters of Lake Ouachita extend 30 miles over 40,000 surface acres. The campground provides convenient access to excellent shoreline fishing in both Stephens Park and the adjacent Avery Day-use Area. Boaters can launch at the nearby Spillway Ramp for Lake Ouachita or the Avery Ramp for Lake Hamilton. Hikers will appreciate the campground's location on the eastern end of the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail, a 44-mile trail system that meanders along the south shore of the lake. The Wood Duck Slough Trail is also nearby. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with everything from bobcats and black bears to deer in the surrounding forested mountains. Bald eagles are frequently spotted during winter months. Water sports enthusiasts enjoy skiing, jet skiing, and fishing on the pristine lake waters. The campground operates as self-check-in, with ranger patrols for verification.

Directions

From Hot Springs, take US 270 west to AR-227 N/Mountain Pine Road for 6 miles. Continue straight on Blakely Dam Road through Mountain Pine and past Mountain Pine school. Stephens Park Campground will be on your left just before the base of Blakely Mountain Dam.
