About

Lake Ouachita State Park sits on the shores of Arkansas's largest lake, a 40,000-acre clear-water impoundment in the Ouachita Mountains. The park's 93 campsites include 58 Class AAA sites with full hookups (water, 50-amp electric, sewer), 23 Class D primitive sites, and 12 walk-in tent sites. Many sites are positioned directly on the waterfront. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table, with bathhouses providing hot showers and flush toilets. The park functions as a base for water recreation including fishing, swimming, scuba diving, and boating. The marina operates March through October with pontoon, kayak, and paddleboard rentals. Year-round interpretive programs include guided hikes, eagle viewing cruises during winter months, and kayak tours in spring and summer. The visitor center is open daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beyond camping, the park offers 8 full-service cabins with kitchens and 4 camper cabins for those wanting more amenities. A camp store provides supplies, and a dump station serves RVers. Gathering firewood in the park is prohibited, and campers may not bring firewood from outside the area.
