About

Stanley Lake Campground is located on the shoreline above beautiful Stanley Lake at the foot of the Sawtooth Mountains within the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. The campground features 19 campsites, including one double site, situated on a hillside in a thick grove of lodgepole pines at 6,500 feet elevation. Most sites have partial shade and stunning views of Stanley Lake and the rugged 9,860-foot McGowan Peak. A scenic overlook near sites 3 and 4 offers outstanding views popular with painters and photographers. Stanley Lake offers excellent water recreation including boating, waterskiing, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing for rainbow, cutthroat, brook, and bull trout. A boat ramp is located just outside the campground. The Idaho Centennial Trail passes nearby and can be accessed from the Stanley Lake Trailhead across the lake. The Sawtooth National Recreation Area offers an estimated 750 miles of trails for hiking and biking. Nearby Redfish Lake provides additional recreation opportunities. Summer temperatures are cool, with average highs of 78 degrees and lows of 40 degrees.
