About

Lake View Campground sits in a lodgepole pine overstory on the shores of Stanley Lake at the foot of the Sawtooth Mountains. The campground offers 6 campsites including 1 double site, all available on a first-come, first-served basis. A boat ramp near the campground provides lake access for swimming, boating, waterskiing, canoeing, and kayaking. The lake is stocked with rainbow, cutthroat, brook and bull trout, making it a popular fishing destination. Several hiking trails are accessible from the area including Stanley Lake trailhead, Elk Mountain trailhead, and nearby Lady Face Falls. The campground provides excellent views of McGowan Peak, which rises to 9,860 feet elevation to the south. The campground operates seasonally from May through September and closes on September 21st. Located within the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, occupancy is limited to 10 days within a 30-day period within a 30-mile radius. Campers must bring their own drinking water as potable water is not available on site.
