About

Spring Creek Campground sits at the edge of Spring Creek Lake within the Black Kettle National Grassland in western Oklahoma. This small, primitive USFS facility offers a handful of sites nestled among hardwoods along the lakeshore, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. The campground operates year-round on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees or reservations. Spring Creek Lake covers approximately 47 acres and supports fishing for largemouth bass, channel catfish, and sunfish. A 5 MPH speed limit keeps the water calm for kayaks, canoes, and small sailboats. The surrounding grassland provides habitat for deer, turkey, and various bird species. Facilities are basic: vault toilets and limited water are available, but there are no hookups, showers, or dump stations. Campers should come prepared for a primitive experience in this quiet corner of the Oklahoma panhandle region.
