About
Spring Creek Campground is a free, primitive developed campground managed by the U.S. Forest Service within Black Kettle National Grassland. Located approximately 18.5 miles north of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, the campground sits near the shores of Spring Creek Lake in the distinctive rolling hills characteristic of the grassland.
The campground provides basic amenities for campers, including picnic tables and fire rings at each site. While primarily designed for tent camping, small to medium-sized RVs have successfully used the parking areas, though there are no hookups or formal RV sites. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations required.
Spring Creek Lake offers fishing opportunities, and the surrounding Black Kettle National Grassland provides numerous trails and dispersed camping areas for hunting and outdoor adventures. The area is peaceful and relatively undeveloped, making it ideal for campers seeking a quiet, natural experience away from more crowded campgrounds.
