Nestled in the High Hills of Santee where the South Carolina Sandhills meet the coastal plain, Poinsett State Park Campground provides a peaceful camping experience within a 1,000-acre park. The campground features 50 sites total: 24 sites with water and electrical hookups suitable for RVs, and 26 tent sites with water hookups. Some sites can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet in length. All campsites include a picnic table and fire ring. The campground offers modern amenities including restroom facilities with hot showers. A primitive group camping area is also available for organized groups up to 200 people, featuring central water and restrooms. The park provides access to Old Levi Mill Lake for fishing, multiple hiking trails including connections to the Palmetto Trail system, and links to the adjacent Manchester State Forest. Reservations are available through the South Carolina State Parks system and require a minimum two-night stay.
