About

Lee State Park sits along the Lynches River in South Carolina's Sandhills region, offering a quieter alternative to more heavily visited state parks. The 2,839-acre park is known for its artesian wells, natural geological features where underground pressure forces water to the surface without pumping. The Lynches River provides opportunities for fishing and paddling, with the park serving as a put-in point for canoe and kayak trips. The campground operates year-round with both family and equestrian camping areas. Family campsites accommodate tents and RVs up to 36 feet, with all sites equipped with water and electric hookups. Select sites offer full hookups including sewer connections. Hot showers and restrooms are centrally located, and a dump station is available adjacent to the campground. The equestrian camping area provides direct access to 12 miles of riding trails and a show ring. A primitive group camping area accommodates organized groups up to 75 people across three designated sites with central water and a privy. The park also features an Education Center with an exhibit hall and wet lab, two rentable picnic shelters, and easy hiking trails. Park admission is free; camping requires advance reservations with a two-night minimum stay.
