Huntington Beach State Park encompasses 2,500 acres of undeveloped beach and salt marsh along South Carolina's Grand Strand. The campground offers 173 sites split between the North and South loops. Standard sites provide water and electric hookups, while 66 full-hookup sites add sewer connections. Six walk-in tent sites offer a more primitive experience with central water access. Most sites accommodate RVs up to 40 feet, with some limited to 30 feet. The park is renowned for its pristine 3-mile beach, considered one of the best on the East Coast for shorebird watching. Over 300 bird species have been documented here, making it a destination for birders year-round. Surf fishing is excellent, and the Nature Center provides interpretive programs. Atalaya, the Moorish-style winter home of sculptor Anna Hyatt Huntington and her husband Archer, is a National Historic Landmark open daily for tours. The annual Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival draws visitors each September. Amenities include a gift shop, EV charging stations, beach wheelchair rentals, and accessible boardwalks for wildlife viewing.

Directions

Located at 16148 Ocean Highway (US 17) in Murrells Inlet, approximately 3 miles south of Murrells Inlet and 16 miles south of Myrtle Beach. The park entrance is on the east side of US 17.
