Edisto Beach State Park Campground is one of South Carolina's four oceanfront state park campgrounds, located on Edisto Island approximately one hour from Charleston. The facility features two distinct campgrounds with 112 total sites, offering visitors a choice between oceanfront camping along a palmetto-lined beach renowned for shelling or sites nestled in a shaded maritime forest near the salt marsh. Most campsites include 20/30/50 amp electrical service and water hookups, accommodating both RVs up to 40 feet and tent campers. For those seeking a more rustic experience, five walk-in tent sites with tent pads are available in the Live Oak Campground area with centralized water access. Both campgrounds provide convenient access to restrooms with hot showers. The park's 1,255 acres include miles of pristine beach access, extensive marshlands, and a maritime forest featuring some of South Carolina's tallest palmetto trees and ancient live oaks. Visitors should note that the park's water supply, treated by the Town of Edisto Beach, has high salt content but is deemed safe to drink. The park is open daily with extended hours during Daylight Saving Time.
