About
North Abutment Day Use Area is nestled in a scenic location on the northern side of Grenada Dam along Highway 333, offering visitors a beautiful nook with stunning views of Grenada Lake. The area is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and provides a perfect setting for day trips and group gatherings. The main feature is the North Abutment Pavilion, which is especially popular for those who want to combine their event with bank fishing opportunities. The pavilion is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Recreation opportunities include boat launching via the on-site boat ramp, bank fishing along the shoreline, and biking on nearby trails. Basic amenities include restroom facilities near the pavilion. Nearby attractions include the Overlook, Old Fort Cannon Area, Lost Bluff Hiking Trail, and The Dogwoods Golf Course at Hugh White State Park. The North Abutment Campground is also adjacent for those seeking overnight camping options. Pets are permitted but must be kept on a leash at all times. Note that there is no playground access in this recreation area.
