About
Dam Area Central is a scenic day-use recreation area managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Grenada Lake, located near the intersection of Highway 332 and Toe Road, approximately 5 miles from the city of Grenada. This shaded facility serves as a community recreation hub rather than an overnight camping destination.
The area features two group picnic pavilions available on a first-come, first-served basis: Pavilion 563 accommodates up to 150 people, and Pavilion 502 accommodates up to 50 people. Both pavilions have electric service. Recreation amenities include playgrounds, ball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a mile-long fitness trail that winds through the area, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and birdwatching.
The natural setting provides habitat for many different wildlife and plant species that are easily visible along the Dam Area Central Fitness Trail. Nearby attractions include the Overlook, Old Fort Cannon Area, Lost Bluff Hiking Trail, and The Dogwoods Golf Course at Hugh White State Park. The facility includes restroom facilities, and pets are allowed on leash.
