About

Smoky Mountain Campground is located in City of Rocks National Reserve near Almo, Idaho, offering 38 campsites with modern amenities. The campground includes 9 pull-through sites and sites 11 and 24 are designated ADA accessible. A separate equestrian loop with 6 sites accommodates horse campers. Each site features a paved parking pad, 30-amp electrical hookup, fire ring with ground grill, and picnic table with partial shade. Seasonal amenities include potable water (May-September), flush toilets and hot showers (May-September). A vault toilet at the equestrian trailhead remains open year-round. An RV dump station is located near the campground entrance. The campground is set among Idaho's largest pinyon pine forest, providing a scenic base for exploring the Reserve's unique granite formations and climbing routes. The campground operates first-come, first-served during the off-season, with reservations available during the main season. Length of stay is limited to 15 days in any 30-day period. All vehicles must pay a motor vehicle entrance fee or have an Annual Pass. Campground regulations conform to Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation rules.
