About
Cabin Camp 1 was the first camp completed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in Prince William Forest Park during the 1930s. The facility showcases exceptional examples of rustic architecture with stone foundations, fireplaces, and whole log supports highlighting the native materials favored by the CCC builders. The camp sleeps up to 205 visitors in sleeping cabins that accommodate 2-10 people per unit; the cabins themselves are newer construction from the 1980s. The camp features six bathhouses with hot showers and flush toilets, plus additional restrooms in the dining hall and infirmary. The commercial dining hall includes a full kitchen with stoves, ovens, griddle, walk-in refrigerator, freezer, and sinks. Two craft lodges provide indoor gathering spaces with working fireplaces. Outdoor amenities include campfire circles with benches and ballfields. Reservations require submitting a cabin camp application with a $25 fee at least two weeks in advance. The entire camp must be reserved as a single group reservation. Check-in is 1:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM, with the permittee required to be present for both. Campers are responsible for cleaning bathhouses and leaving cabins swept and free of trash.
