About

Cabin Camp 3 sits within Prince William Forest Park, the largest Piedmont forest ecosystem in the National Park System and the third-largest NPS unit in Virginia. Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s, the camp preserves its historic character while offering rustic overnight accommodations just two miles from the park entrance along Scenic Drive. The 13 individual cabins are distributed across A Unit (4 and 6-person cabins) and B Unit (10-person cabins), each with electricity, bunk-style cots with mattresses, ceiling fans, and a light bulb. The camp provides central bath houses with hot showers in both units, craft lodges for gathering, and a fire circle area. Each cabin site includes a picnic table and charcoal grill. Visitors must hike approximately 720 feet from the central parking lot to reach their cabin, with wheeled carts available for hauling gear. The C Unit group site accommodates up to 76 people with a dining hall featuring a 10-burner gas stove, walk-in refrigerator, and full kitchen facilities. The surrounding park offers 37 miles of hiking trails, 21 miles of paved roads for cycling, 10 miles of mountain biking on gravel fire roads, and 30 orienteering courses. Quantico Creek and two small lakes provide fishing opportunities for bluegill, bass, and catfish. The park sits conveniently between Fredericksburg and Manassas National Battlefield Park, with the National Museum of the Marine Corps just a mile from the entrance.
