About
Sloway Campground is a developed Forest Service campground located off Interstate 90 in Montana's Lolo National Forest. Nestled in the valley bottom among pine trees along the Clark Fork River, the campground provides convenient access for river recreation including rafting, kayaking, tubing, and fishing. The Alberton Gorge, a popular whitewater destination, is approximately 21 miles east.
The campground features 27 paved sites, with 12 pull-through sites designed for vehicles longer than 35 feet. Sites 1-10 and 21-25 are reservable through Recreation.gov, while sites 11-20 and 26-27 are first-come, first-served. One specialized equestrian site includes a round pen, corral, and hitching post. Amenities include vault toilets, potable water, picnic tables, fire rings, trash services, and camp hosts. A primitive hand-carry boat launch provides river access.
Be aware that the campground receives significant noise from Interstate 90 and passing trains due to its valley location. Nearby towns include Superior (8 miles east) and St. Regis (7 miles west). The Route of the Hiawatha Trail is 43 miles west.
