About

Muchwater Flat Campground offers a primitive camping experience on the banks of the Clark Fork River in the Superior Ranger District of Lolo National Forest. The 15 dispersed sites sit above the river, providing easy access to excellent fishing, rafting, and swimming opportunities. Each site features a picnic table and fire ring for campfires when conditions allow. The campground operates year-round on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees or reservations. Facilities are minimal: two vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water, trash service, or hookups. Campers must bring their own drinking water and pack out all garbage. Pets are welcome but must be kept on leash. This area is home to both black and grizzly bears, so proper food storage is essential. A wildlife attractant storage order is in effect. Additionally, shooting is prohibited at the campground.
