About

Skyline Campground occupies an elevated position above Guernsey Reservoir in Guernsey State Park, one of Wyoming's most scenic state parks. The hilltop setting provides sweeping views across the reservoir and surrounding high plains. Sites are spread out along the bluff, offering relative privacy despite the primitive nature of the campground. The campground features basic amenities including vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. Potable water is available seasonally from April 15 through October 15. There are no electric or water hookups at individual sites. A dump station is located at the park's south entrance for RV campers. Guernsey State Park preserves significant Civilian Conservation Corps architecture from the 1930s, including the nearby "Castle" museum building accessible via Skyline Road. Approximately 14 miles of restored CCC trails wind through the park, offering hiking opportunities with scenic overlooks of the reservoir and dam. The park also features swimming beaches, fishing, and boating access at lower elevations.

Directions

From Guernsey, head north on US-26 and turn west following signs to Guernsey State Park. Enter via the main park entrance and take Lake Side Drive west approximately 2 miles, then turn right onto Skyline Drive and continue about 1 mile to the campground.
