Davis Bay campground is located within Guernsey State Park, which sits around Guernsey Reservoir in Platte County, Wyoming. The park is home to 19 campgrounds with 250 total campsites, providing a variety of camping experiences around the reservoir. Davis Bay features primitive campsites with fire rings and picnic tables, along with comfort stations. Guernsey State Park is renowned for its exceptional examples of Civilian Conservation Corps architecture and stonework from the 1930s. The park's trail system includes approximately 14 miles of restored CCC trails that wind through the landscape, offering scenic views of the reservoir and dam. The Guernsey Museum, The Castle at Brimmer Point, and various stone structures showcase the craftsmanship of the CCC era. The park offers extensive recreational opportunities including boating, fishing, swimming at designated beaches, and wildlife viewing. Visitors can also explore significant historic sites nearby, including Register Cliff where Oregon Trail pioneers carved their names, and the Oregon Trail Ruts located just south of the town of Guernsey. The reservoir is managed by the Bureau of Reclamation with recreation facilities operated by Wyoming State Parks.
