Sandy Beach Campground sits on the western shore of Guernsey Reservoir within the 6,000-acre Guernsey State Park in southeastern Wyoming. As one of the park's premier camping areas, it offers a mix of primitive and modern camping options to accommodate various camping styles. The campground features designated beach areas for swimming and water access, making it popular with families and water recreation enthusiasts. All campsites include fire rings and picnic tables, with electric and water hookup sites available for RVs and trailers. The park's location provides access to diverse recreational opportunities including boating, fishing, hiking, biking, rock climbing, and wildlife viewing. The surrounding landscape showcases some of the finest examples of Civilian Conservation Corps construction in the Rocky Mountain region, with historic stone structures and scenic overlooks throughout the park. Guernsey State Park's 245 campsites are distributed across the reservoir, with Sandy Beach and Sandy Point campgrounds on the west side offering the most developed facilities. The eastern side of the reservoir, accessed via Lake Side Drive, provides additional scenic camping options in more remote settings.

Directions

From U.S. 191 in Pinedale, Wyoming, travel north onto Skyline Drive. After 2.5 miles, turn left onto Forest Service Road 749. Follow the road to the left at the 'Y' intersection, and continue for a half-mile to the entrance of Sandy Beach.
