Red Cloud Campground is part of Guernsey State Park's extensive network of 19 campgrounds totaling 250 campsites around Guernsey Reservoir. All sites include comfort stations, picnic tables, and fire grills. The park showcases exceptional Civilian Conservation Corps architecture from the 1930s, including the cliffside Guernsey Museum built with hand-hewn timbers and hand-forged iron, and The Castle with its massive fireplace and observation area. The CCC built approximately 14 miles of moderately demanding trails starting at Brimmer Point that loop through scenic views of the reservoir, dam, and surrounding landscape. Red Cloud Campground serves as a base for exploring these trails, fishing and boating on the reservoir, and visiting nearby Oregon Trail historic sites including the famous wagon ruts just half a mile south of Guernsey and Register Cliff two miles southeast. Rock climbers can access the Red Cloud Wall, located uphill and east of the campground. Guernsey State Park is located near the town of Guernsey off U.S. Highway 26 in southeastern Wyoming. A dump station is available at the south entrance. Camping is limited to 14 days within any 30-day period, and quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
