About
Silver Overflow Campground is a 52-site campground designed primarily for RV groups, located in the Sacramento Ranger District of Lincoln National Forest near Cloudcroft, New Mexico. At 8,900 feet elevation, the campground sits in a mixed conifer and aspen forest, offering relief from summer desert heat. Unlike traditional campgrounds with individual spurs, Silver Overflow features centralized camping distribution, making it ideal for larger RV groups traveling together. The campground provides full amenities including flush toilets, potable water, showers, a dump station, fire rings, picnic tables, gray water sumps, and a central garbage depository. There is no RV length limit, making it accessible to big rigs. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Adjacent to the campground is the Silver Amphitheater, where rangers, musicians, and other presenters offer Saturday night programs during the summer season. Interpretive trails connect Silver Overflow to other campgrounds in the complex, providing opportunities for hiking and exploring the surrounding forest. The campground is part of the Silver-Saddle-Apache Campground Complex, accessible via Forest Road 24C off NM Highway 244.
