About

Silver Overflow Campground sits at approximately 8,700 feet elevation in Lincoln National Forest, just a few miles from Cloudcroft in the Sacramento Mountains of southern New Mexico. The campground accommodates 52 trailers in a centralized layout rather than individual camping spurs, making it well-suited for RV groups and larger rigs with no length restrictions. Facilities include vault toilets, potable water, coin-operated showers, an RV dump station, fire rings, picnic tables, gray water sumps, and a central garbage depository. Interpretive trails provide opportunities to explore the surrounding ponderosa pine and mixed conifer forest. During summer months, rangers, musicians, and other presenters host Saturday night programs at the adjacent Silver Amphitheater. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted. It is part of the Silver-Saddle-Apache Campground Complex, offering multiple camping options in a scenic mountain setting.

Directions

Travel east on US-82 from Cloudcroft, turn left onto NM-244. After approximately 4 miles, turn right at the Silver-Saddle-Apache Campground Complex sign onto Forest Road 24C.
