Snow Play Closure

About
Pines Campground is located in the Lincoln National Forest near Cloudcroft, New Mexico at an elevation of 8,700 feet. The campground offers 24 sites, including 21 single units, 2 double units, and 1 triple unit, all shaded by a dense forest of Douglas fir and white fir trees. Paved roads throughout the campground provide easy access for RVs up to 35 feet in length. The campground serves as an excellent basecamp for exploring the 1.1 million acre Lincoln National Forest. Direct trail connections from the campground include access to the popular Osha Trail, which provides stunning views of the Mexican Canyon Trestle and the Tularosa Basin below, as well as views of White Sands National Park. The area is renowned for its large elk population, making wildlife viewing a highlight for campers. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, parking spur, and gray water sump. The campground provides vault toilets, potable water, and a central garbage depository. The cool mountain climate offers a refreshing escape from desert heat, with opportunities for hiking, picnicking, and sightseeing throughout the surrounding forest.

Travel east on US82 from Cloudcroft, turn left onto NM244. Less than 1 mile later on your left you will find the entrance to Pines Campground (across the street from the Fir Campgrounds).
