About

Silver Campground is a well-established Forest Service campground located in the Sacramento Ranger District of Lincoln National Forest, near Cloudcroft, New Mexico. At approximately 8,600 feet elevation, the campground provides relief from desert heat and access to mountain recreation including interpretive trails in the surrounding ponderosa pine forest. The campground offers 30 single-unit sites with picnic tables, fire rings, and parking spurs. Standard amenities include vault toilets, potable water, and a central garbage collection area. While Silver Campground itself lacks showers and dump facilities, these are available at the adjacent Silver Overflow Campground for $7 per person (showers) and $15 per use (dump station). No hookups are available at any sites. A highlight of Silver Campground is the adjacent 100-seat amphitheater, which hosts music, presentations, and ranger programs on many Saturday evenings during the summer season. The amphitheater can also be rented for private events. Holders of National Parks Lifetime Senior and Access passes receive discounted camping fees.
