About

Located at Buffalo Bill State Park along the scenic North Fork Shoshone River corridor, Shreve Campground offers a unique primitive camping experience in western-style camp shacks near the historic Shreve Lodge. The three insulated cabins provide basic shelter with bunk beds (no linens provided), a table, chairs, and nightstand. These accommodations emphasize a back-to-basics outdoor experience with no electricity, running water, or indoor plumbing. Each campsite features a fire ring for campfires and cooking, along with bear-proof trash receptacles essential for this wildlife-rich area near Yellowstone. Communal portable outhouses serve the camp shack area. The location provides easy access to Buffalo Bill Reservoir for fishing and boating, as well as the dramatic canyon scenery that makes this region a gateway to Yellowstone National Park. The camp shacks operate primarily during the peak season from May through September. Reservations are required and can be made through the Wyoming State Parks reservation system up to 120 days in advance. Campers should bring their own drinking water, bedding, and cooking equipment.
