About
Hogan and Luce Campground is a small, well-maintained Bureau of Land Management facility situated at 4,825 feet elevation in the scenic mountains 18 miles north of Cody, Wyoming. The campground sits adjacent to Hogan Reservoir and serves as a gateway to backcountry trails and fishing opportunities in the North Absaroka Wilderness area.
Completely rebuilt between 2017 and 2018 to meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards, all six sites are fully accessible with stable, firm ground surfaces throughout. The five individual sites and one group site each feature wheelchair-accessible picnic tables, fire rings with double-wall construction to reduce radiant heat, and modified bear-proof food storage boxes designed for users with dexterity concerns. The campground provides one accessible pit toilet on-site, with a second accessible toilet located near the second reservoir.
This campground is particularly well-suited for equestrian use, offering horse trailer parking, stanchions, and hitching rails at each site. Boating access is provided via a boat ramp and an accessible boat dock featuring an EZ Launch system with transfer slide bench and grab rail for independent launching of canoes and kayaks. The boat dock is installed in late May and removed each September. The Bald Ridge Trail departs directly from the recreation area, providing access to high-country hiking and horseback riding opportunities. Access to the campground requires traveling approximately 5 miles on Park County Road 7RP, followed by a one-mile access road to reach the site.
