About

North Fork Campground is one of two campgrounds at Buffalo Bill State Park, situated along the scenic North Fork of the Shoshone River in Park County, Wyoming. Located approximately 9 miles west of Cody on the Buffalo Bill Cody Scenic Byway (Highway 14/16/20), the campground offers 62 campsites including 6 dedicated tent sites and numerous pull-through sites with electric hookups. Some sites also include water hookups, while 16 electric sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground provides modern amenities including a shower facility with four ADA-compliant unisex stalls and flush toilets, a dump station with garden hose hookup for black tank cleaning, and a playground for families. A large irrigated turf area and riparian zone offer space for recreation and wildlife viewing. The majestic Absaroka Mountains frame the scenery, and the campground's location away from the main highway provides a quieter atmosphere than Lake Shore Campground. North Fork operates seasonally from May through September, with reservations available through the Wyoming State Parks reservation system. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring Buffalo Bill Reservoir, the nearby Shoshone National Forest, and the gateway to Yellowstone National Park.
