North Fork Campground

Open — Closed for the season. Reopens in May and operates through September. During the off-season, the campground reverts to first-come, first-served when accessible. Reservations for the summer season can be made by calling 1-877-996-7275.

About

North Fork Campground is located at Buffalo Bill State Park along the North Fork of the Shoshone River, approximately 9 miles west of Cody, Wyoming on Highway 14/16/20. The campground features 60 campsites with 56 pull-through sites and 6 designated tent-only sites, though tent campers may use any site. The majestic Absaroka Mountains dominate the scenery, and the campground is situated away from the main highway, offering a quieter setting compared to the park's Lake Shore Campground. All campsites include picnic tables and fire grills, with electrical hookups available at most sites. The campground provides modern restroom facilities, water hydrants throughout, a playground, and a dump station. A group camping area is also available for reservations. The park's visitor center features interpretive exhibits, touch-screen displays, and audio-visual presentations about the area's history and natural features. Buffalo Bill State Park encompasses 9,000 acres of water recreation on Buffalo Bill Reservoir and approximately 3,000 acres of parkland. The reservoir offers excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, and water sports. The park is conveniently located near the east entrance to Yellowstone National Park and the historic town of Cody, making it a popular base for exploring the region.
