About
Shoshone Park Kitchen is a day-use group picnic facility located in the Idaho Panhandle National Forests near Mullan, Idaho. Situated at 3,600 feet in a valley at the base of Runt Mountain, this pristine forested park features a stream running through the area. The facility offers two reservable kitchen shelters suitable for groups up to 100 people, each equipped with large grills and piped drinking water. The West Kitchen Shelter includes 15-amp electric hookups. In addition to the reservable shelters, 21 picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The large open field is ideal for baseball, horseshoes, and other group activities. Note that there are no restrooms at this facility. Nearby attractions include the Hale Fish Hatchery at the east end of the park and the historic Captain John Mullan cabin. Mullan was a 19th-century military commander who built a wagon road now used as a hiking trail and snowmobiling route. The historic mining town of Mullan is just a few miles west.
Directions
From Mullan, drive east on Friday Ave, which turns into Larson Road. Total trip is about 3 miles. Look for signs to Shoshone Park. The West Kitchen is the first shelter when entering the park.
