Sheppard Point sits on Heyburn Lake in the picturesque Sandstone Hills of Oklahoma's central lowlands. The landscape features gentle, wooded hills covered in oaks, blackjack, and occasional hickory, ash, elm, and cottonwood trees. In spring, flowering wild plum and redbud trees add color to the setting. The lake provides excellent fishing for catfish, bass, and crappie, while the surrounding area supports white-tailed deer and wild turkey hunting. The campground offers 37 individual sites: 21 standard electric sites with 30-amp electric and water hookups, and 16 tent-only nonelectric sites. Several sites are specifically designed for equestrian camping, with tether poles for horses behind the sites and direct access to the multi-use trail system. Each campsite accommodates one wheeled camping unit plus two tents, or three tents maximum. Facilities include hot showers, restrooms, a dump station, boat ramp with courtesy dock, playground, and a sandy swim beach. Group picnic shelters are available for day use. The swim beach is a designated alcohol-free and pet-free zone. Gate hours are 6 AM to 10 PM with quiet hours from 10 PM to 6 AM. Maximum stay is 14 days within any 30-day period.

Directions

From Sapulpa, take SH33 west 7 miles past Kellyville. Exit on Turner Turnpike. Follow signs 3.5 miles south from SH33. From Bristow, take SH48 to the 48/33 intersection. Go east on SH33 for 3.5 miles to 305th W. Ave. Follow signs south from SH33.
