Shawme-Crowell State Forest encompasses 700 acres of pitch pine and scrub oak forest at the beginning of Cape Cod in Sandwich, Massachusetts. The campground offers more than 285 sites divided into multiple camping areas, along with group camping options and six yurts. Comfort stations with flush toilets and showers are conveniently located throughout the campground, and each individual site comes equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. The forest provides over 15 miles of trails for hiking and horseback riding through the rolling, wooded terrain. Area Two features a playground and pavilion for families. This is a no-hookup campground, though a dump station is available for RV campers. Maximum RV length varies by area, generally capping at 20-30 feet depending on the specific loop. The campground operates seasonally from mid-April through mid-October during the regular season. Off-season camping from October through April is limited to Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights plus the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. ADA-accessible sites are available with accessible restrooms, showers, and parking at all comfort stations.
