About

Scusset Beach State Reservation sits at the southwest corner of Cape Cod Bay where the Cape Cod Canal meets the ocean, managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation under a lease with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground provides 98 RV sites equipped with water and 20/30/50-amp electric hookups, plus 5 tent-only sites and a safari field for RV clubs. The reservation spans 1.5 miles of beachfront with lifeguards on duty from Juneteenth through Labor Day. Additional amenities include restrooms, showers, a dump station for registered campers, picnic areas, and a concession stand. The park's location at the east end of the Cape Cod Canal offers exceptional recreational opportunities. Anglers frequent the fishing pier for saltwater fishing, while the 7.5-mile paved Cape Cod Canal pathway provides accessible routes for biking, walking, and skating with views of ships passing through the canal. A 0.7-mile trail to Sagamore Hill offers commanding views of the canal's east entrance and the bay. The park features wheelchair-accessible facilities including a boardwalk with beach mat, beach wheelchairs, and ADA-compliant restrooms. Campfires are permitted at tent sites and the community fire pit but not at RV sites, and firewood must be purchased on-site.
