About
Scusset Beach State Reservation occupies a prime location at the eastern terminus of the Cape Cod Canal in Sandwich, Massachusetts. The campground offers 98 RV sites equipped with water and 20/30/50-amp electric service, five tent-only campsites, and a safari field available for RV club rallies. Sites 1-58 include wood-burning fire rings, while sites 59-98 are designated non-wood-burning (propane fires and pellet stoves permitted). During the regular camping season, campers have access to flush restrooms, hot showers, potable water, trash collection, and a dump station. The park's 1,600-foot beach on Cape Cod Bay draws visitors for swimming, fishing, and sunbathing, with seasonal lifeguards, a concession stand, and wheelchair-accessible restroom and shower facilities. An ADA-compliant boardwalk provides beach access, and beach wheelchairs are available. The adjacent Cape Cod Canal offers excellent fishing and a paved bike path extending to Buzzards Bay. Off-season weekend camping is available for self-contained units only, as restrooms, water hookups, showers, and dump station are closed. Reservations are required year-round with no walk-in registration permitted. Up to four pets per site are allowed with current rabies certificates, and pets must remain leashed at all times.
