About

Massasoit State Park campground occupies a scenic section of the 1,200-acre park in southeastern Massachusetts, surrounded by mixed hardwood and pine forest with six ponds and lakes. The campground offers 84 sites across multiple loops: 50 sites with 20/30/50-amp electric hookups, tent-only sites, and a generator-free quiet area. Every site includes a picnic table, charcoal pedestal grill, and fire ring. Comfort stations with flush toilets and hot showers are within 300 yards of all sites, and a dump station is available for RVs. The park provides excellent recreational opportunities including swimming at the main beach (with beach wheelchairs available), kayaking, canoeing, fishing, mountain biking on wooded trails, and hiking. The kettle ponds are remnants of glacial activity and offer calm waters ideal for paddling. The campground draws families and outdoor enthusiasts looking for an accessible state park experience within easy reach of Boston and Cape Cod. Reservations are required and can be made through the Massachusetts DCR ReserveAmerica system up to four months in advance. Walk-in camping is not permitted. Check-in runs from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, checkout by 11:00 AM, with quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Pets are allowed with current rabies certificates, limited to four per site.
