About

Camp Run Campground is a primitive camping area located along a Shenandoah Mountain drainage in Pendleton County, West Virginia, within the George Washington National Forest. The campground features 9 campsites and provides an authentic 1950s-style camping experience that is especially popular with hunters visiting the Shenandoah Wildlife Management Area. This rustic campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis year-round with no reservation system and no fees. Amenities are minimal, keeping with the primitive character of the site. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire pit, but campers must bring their own drinking water as none is available on-site. Vault toilets are provided for restroom facilities. The campground is accessed from Bergton, Virginia, by traveling along VA 826 (which becomes County Route 31) to Forest Service Road 526. Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The remote location and primitive setting make Camp Run an ideal base camp for hunters and those seeking a quiet, back-to-basics camping experience in the national forest.
