About

Collins Creek Seasonal Campground is a primitive hunting camp located in the Enoree Ranger District of Sumter National Forest in Union County, South Carolina. The campground features 36 designated campsites spread across large grassy areas under a mixed pine-hardwood canopy at approximately 440 feet elevation. The facility operates seasonally, opening in April for spring turkey season and from September through early January for fall deer hunting season. The surrounding forest sustains abundant wildlife populations, making this one of the most desirable hunting areas in upstate South Carolina for big-game deer and turkey. The campground is centrally positioned to provide access to thousands of acres of national forest hunting land. Beyond hunting, the area offers fishing opportunities on the nearby Broad, Enoree, and Tyger Rivers, though water levels fluctuate seasonally and rivers can become shallow in late summer. The Jews Harp Spring Trail, an easy mile-long hike to a historic spring site, is accessible from across the campground. This is a true primitive camping experience with vault toilets and drinking water available from faucets during the season. Sites are first-come, first-served with no advance reservations. Extended stay options are available at daily, monthly, or seasonal rates, making it popular with hunters who return year after year during hunting seasons.
