About

Sardis Cove Campground sits on the shores of Sardis Lake, a 14,360-acre reservoir managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in southeastern Oklahoma. The campground offers 45 sites divided into upper and lower loops, with a mix of electric sites and standard non-electric sites. The facility provides basic amenities including restrooms with showers, picnic areas, and fire pits at individual sites. Sardis Lake is fed by Jackfork Creek, a tributary of the Kiamichi River, and is surrounded by the rolling terrain of the Ouachita Mountain foothills. The lake's 117 miles of shoreline provide excellent opportunities for fishing, with the lake known for producing some of Oklahoma's largest prize bass. The campground includes a boat ramp for easy lake access, making it popular for boating, skiing, and water sports. Located in Choctaw Country near the town of Clayton, Sardis Cove offers a secluded camping experience away from urban areas. The campground operates year-round and is managed under Recreation.gov's reservation system, with sites available for advance booking. Hiking trails are accessible from the area, and the facility provides a no-frills camping experience focused on outdoor recreation and lake access.
