About

Potato Hills Central Campground occupies a scenic stretch of the eastern shoreline of Sardis Lake in the rolling foothills of the Ouachita Mountains. The campground is arranged across four loops (LA, LB, LC, LD) beneath a canopy of blackjack oak, post oak, and pines that provide welcome shade during Oklahoma summers. All 82 back-in sites come equipped with 30-amp electric hookups, and two group camping areas accommodate larger parties. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintains modern facilities including hot showers, flush restrooms, potable water, and an RV dump station. An accessible fishing dock extends into the lake, and a playground keeps younger campers entertained. Hiking trails depart from the campground area, and equestrian parking is available for riders exploring the surrounding public lands. Sardis Lake is renowned for trophy bass fishing, with catfish, walleye, and crappie also abundant. More than 8,000 acres of public land encircle the lake for wildlife watching and hunting. Additional camping is available at nearby Potato Hills South Campground.
