About

Journey to southeastern Oklahoma for a picturesque getaway at Sardis Lake, where Potato Hills Central Campground offers fresh-air camping in the rolling foothills of the Ouachita Mountains. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this established campground features 82 back-in campsites shaded by blackjack oak, post oak, and pine trees, all equipped with 30-amp electric hookups. Two group campsites can accommodate up to 64 people total. The campground provides modern amenities including hot showers, flush toilets, and a playground for young children. An accessible fishing dock makes it easy for all visitors to enjoy the lake. Hiking trails are accessible directly from the campground, allowing guests to explore the scenic terrain. Sardis Lake is a premier fishing destination, producing some of Oklahoma's largest species of prize bass. Anglers can also expect to catch catfish, walleye, and crappie. The lake's waters, sourced from Jackfork Creek (a tributary of the Kiamichi River), are ideal for jet skiing, swimming, and canoeing. More than 8,000 acres of public land around the lake is available for wildlife watching and hunting.
