About

Robbers Cave State Park lies in the scenic, hilly woodlands of the Sans Bois Mountains in southeast Oklahoma, 5 miles north of Wilburton. The park takes its name from a cave once used as a hideout by outlaws including Belle Starr and Jesse James. Today it draws campers with 230 sites spread across multiple loops, ranging from primitive tent camping along secluded trails to modern RV sites with full hookups. The campground offers 97 tent sites, 47 semi-modern RV sites with water and electric, 20 modern RV sites with full hookups, 3 premium RV sites, and 50 equestrian sites for those bringing horses. Unique accommodations include 2 yurts, a lake hut, and a covered wagon. Amenities include comfort stations with showers, a dump station, grills, an outdoor pool, swim beach, playground, and WiFi. The park also has a restaurant (The Lookout Kitchen), nature center, gift shop, and offers activities like fishing, hiking, rock climbing, rappelling, disc golf, and ATV trails. Reservations are made through the Oklahoma State Parks reservation system and can be booked up to 11-12 months in advance with a minimum 1-day advance notice required.
