About

Long Canyon Campground occupies a peaceful stretch of Guernsey Reservoir's north shore, offering campers a more secluded experience compared to the park's busier western campgrounds. The area features primitive campsites equipped with fire rings and picnic tables, comfort station facilities, and convenient boat ramp access for those bringing watercraft. The campground showcases historic architecture in the form of a Civilian Conservation Corps-built picnic shelter, one of several such structures throughout Guernsey State Park that provide covered gathering spaces. A small climbing playground near the shelter makes this a suitable option for families. Unlike the Sandy Beach and Sandy Point campgrounds on the park's west side, Long Canyon does not offer electric or water hookups, maintaining its primitive character. Guernsey State Park operates year-round, though water systems shut down from October through April. Reservations are available May 1 through September 30 via reserve.wyoming.gov, with sites bookable up to four months in advance for Wyoming residents and 113 days for non-residents.
