About
Sandbeach Campground is a popular destination for off-road vehicle enthusiasts, offering year-round access to nearly 1,100 acres of coastal sand dunes in the Sand Lake Recreation Area. The campground features 81 sites with paved parking aprons, making it accessible for a variety of camping rigs. Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, campfire rings, and an off-road vehicle loading ramp. The Sand Lake Recreation Area is located adjacent to the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by forests, with a climate influenced by strong marine conditions that bring cool summers and moderate winters. Off-road vehicle riding on the extensive dune system is the primary attraction, though the nearby 900-acre Sand Lake Estuary provides additional recreation opportunities including fishing, swimming, crabbing, kayaking, hiking, and wildlife viewing in a near-natural state that supports many waterfowl species. During the winter season (November through April), certain sites are subject to frequent flooding and become first-come, first-served only. All sites are reservable during the peak summer season from May through October. The campground operates under Oregon OHV regulations, and no RV hookups or dump stations are available on-site.
