About

Sandbeach Campground is the premier camping destination for off-road vehicle enthusiasts on the Oregon Coast, offering year-round access to nearly 1,100 acres of coastal sand dunes. The campground features 81 paved campsites, all equipped with campfire rings and picnic tables, along with an OHV loading ramp for easy access to the dune playground. Parking aprons are paved to accommodate trailers and larger rigs. Located within the Sand Lake Recreation Area, the campground sits surrounded by forest adjacent to open sand dunes and the Pacific Ocean. During the peak season from May through October, all sites operate on a reservations-only basis via Recreation.gov. In the winter season from November through April, certain sites prone to flooding are available first-come, first-served, while other sites remain reservable. Beyond OHV riding, the nearby 900-acre Sand Lake Estuary offers diverse recreational opportunities including fishing, swimming, crabbing, kayaking, hiking, and exceptional wildlife viewing. The near-natural state of the estuary provides habitat for numerous waterfowl species. An Oregon OHV permit is required for all motorized vehicles on sand. No OHV riding is allowed between midnight and 6 a.m., and an alcohol ban is enforced in OHV riding areas.
