Devils Lake State Recreation Area

Open

Open for camping May 1 through December 1. The campground closes seasonally due to winter flooding from the underlying peat bog. Reservations available through Oregon State Parks ReserveAmerica system.

About

Devils Lake State Recreation Area occupies a unique position as the only Oregon coast campground located within a city. Set on the west shore of the 685-acre Devils Lake, the park places campers just minutes from downtown Lincoln City and a short walk to the Pacific Ocean beaches. The freshwater lake, sheltered from coastal winds, offers serene conditions for paddling, kayaking, and fishing for rainbow trout, yellow perch, catfish, black crappie, largemouth bass, and bluegill. The campground features 54 tent sites with water nearby, 28 full-hookup RV sites with cable TV, 5 electrical sites with water (4 with cable TV), and 10 yurts including 5 pet-friendly options. Two campsites and two yurts are ADA accessible. Amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, and firewood for sale. The campground offers 12 reservable boat moorage slips, though the nearest boat launch is at Regatta Grounds Park one mile north. Note that the park sits on a peat bog with poor drainage, which can cause flooding during wet months. Only select tent sites can accommodate small trailers under 14 feet. Blue-green algae blooms may occur in the lake between April and September.
