About

Salmon Lake State Park occupies a forested setting along Highway 83 in Montana's Clearwater Valley, roughly 20 miles south of Seeley Lake. The park provides access to the 385-acre Salmon Lake, known for its kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, and largemouth bass fishing. Campers can launch boats from the park's ramp and enjoy paddling, swimming, and wildlife viewing throughout the valley. The campground offers 24 sites ranging from rustic tent spots to RV sites with electrical hookups. A dedicated hike-bike campsite accommodates up to 10 tent spaces and includes a covered shelter, bicycle rack, maintenance stand, electrical outlets, fire ring, and bear-resistant food lockers. All sites have access to flush and vault toilets, showers, potable water, fire rings, and picnic tables. The park operates in bear country, requiring all campers to store food and attractants in hard-sided containers or vehicles when not in immediate use. Firewood is available for purchase on-site. The maximum stay is 14 consecutive days.
