About
Hidden Lake Campground is a small, primitive 5-site campground situated on a scenic 33-acre kettle lake southwest of Seeley Lake, Montana, on the west edge of the Clearwater Valley. Located within Lolo National Forest, this peaceful campground offers a secluded retreat for campers seeking solitude and basic outdoor recreation. The lake is stocked with westslope cutthroat trout, providing good fishing opportunities. Non-motorized boating is allowed, making it ideal for canoes, kayaks, and small watercraft during ice-free months. The campground itself is primitive with no developed amenities—there are no restrooms, no potable water, and no trash service, so visitors must be self-sufficient and practice Leave No Trace principles. Access to Hidden Lake Campground is via Forest Service Road 17662, which extends from Beaver Creek Road. The campground operates year-round on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations and no fees. However, snow levels determine actual accessibility during winter months, and the forest road is typically impassable from late fall through spring. Campers should be prepared for rustic conditions and bring all necessary supplies, including water and a method for waste disposal.
