HUCKLEBERRY

Closed — Typically inaccessible during winter months due to snow on forest roads. Access roads are not maintained for winter travel.

About

Huckleberry Campground is a dispersed camping area located in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest on the Naches Ranger District. Situated at 3,640 feet elevation along forest roads accessed via Little Naches Road, this primitive camping area is particularly popular during hunting season. The site offers no developed facilities, amenities, or services. As a dispersed camping area, Huckleberry provides a true backcountry experience with no designated campsites, restrooms, or potable water. Campers must be fully self-sufficient and practice Leave No Trace principles. The area is accessed via approximately 14 miles of forest roads from Highway 410, making it suitable for high-clearance vehicles. No fees are required for camping at this location. The remote location and lack of amenities make Huckleberry ideal for experienced campers seeking solitude and a primitive camping experience, particularly those engaged in hunting activities during fall season. Winter access is typically not maintained due to snow accumulation at this elevation.
