About

Salisbury Beach State Reservation is a 521-acre state park situated along the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the Merrimack River in northeastern Massachusetts. The campground features 484 sites, all equipped with water and electric hookups, making it one of the state's largest coastal camping facilities. Boardwalks provide convenient access to 3.8 miles of sandy beach for swimming and sunbathing. The campground is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and includes modern comfort stations with flush toilets and showers, a playground, and a camp store. Two boat ramps located at the campground's southern edge provide access to the Merrimack River for motorboats, canoes, and kayaks. A dump station is available near the entrance. The complex of salt marsh, ocean beach, dunes, and river estuary attracts diverse wildlife and is designated as a Massachusetts Wildlife Viewing Site, with harbor seals often visible on the jetty during fall and winter. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance through ReserveAmerica and are accepted same day until 2:00 p.m. on the date of arrival. Walk-in registrations are not permitted. The nearby town of Salisbury offers additional amenities including amusement parks and arcades. Note that alcoholic beverages are prohibited at all Massachusetts state campgrounds.
